Want to Neutralize Traumatic Memories?

I heard on the radio and then later read an article about promising research in switching negative memories into positive ones. At this point the research is conducted on mice and involves implanting a blue light into the brain. Are you interested in changing negative memories but would rather not wait in line for human trials? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a non-invasive useful method that is accessible today through a trained therapist. EMDR has been empirically tested and supported as an effective method for neutralizing traumatic experiences. Discovered in 1987 by Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR uses the brain’s natural memory processing mechanisms and through a set of structured steps, guides a person in eliminating the traumatic aspects of the memories. The memory remains but it is neutralized and no longer holds the person in an emotional prison.
